Craig and Leane Cahoon are the owners of Right Track Academy. They founded RTA based on their love of the arts, and the need for art based programs for children in our community. Leane has 2 degrees in the Arts and Education from ECU. They both give back to their community through various programs.
Emily Fair (formerly Owen) is our branch manager and is a bright familar face who has been with us since Right Track opened its doors. She has worked with children for more than 10 years and volunteers in her community with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Caralyn Warran, our lead drama teacher, comes to us from NY. She attended Mount Saint Mary College where she obtained her Bachelors degree in Psychology. Her degree has proven helpful as we find various ways to bring students "out of their shells." She also has over 14 years of experience and has worked with a wide variety of children. She has spent many years working wth children with autism and other special needs. She absolutely LOVES theater and volunteers her time with various local stage productions behind the scenes. Caralyn finds great joy in watching children's confidence sky rocket with each day that passes. Her favorite memory while working at RTA is "watching a child with special needs perform an abnormally long line with out flaw and seeing his mother's eyes fill with tears as the crowd clapped for him." Caralyn also has a love for animals, including her Bernese Mountain Dog and 2 cats.
Ashley Stout, our lead art teacher, comes to us from WV. She obtained a Bachelors defree of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies while attending West Virginia University. She has a wide range of experience with children including teaching spanish and volunteering for summer reading programs. Ashley is a burst of energy each and every day. She is "repeatedly amazed by the campers and the creative ideas they are able to come up with." Nothing makes her more happy than seeing the children come alive as they express themselves through art. She has a true passion for the arts and believes they "expand creative thinking." When Ashley is not inspiring campers to express themselves through art, she enjoys travel. One of her favorite memories is "walking on the bottom of the ocean floor and feeding the fish."
